| Notes | MACR No. 10238 1/Lt. Clifford C. Gould reported: "I led Program Blue Flight on a bounce of six Me-109s. I started to turn with two of them. I looked back to clear my tail and Lt. Sturgess was still with me. This was after about twenty seconds of combat. The next time I cleared my tail I saw two 109s firing at me and Lt. Sturgess was not there. I never received a call on the radio from Sturgess." Lt. Sturgess was taken prisoner and eventually sent to Stalag Luft III, Sagan. The plane he went down in was named, "Six Gun Pete", which was Arthur Thorsen's plane. He was officially reported at a POW on Jan. 15, 1945. Reproduced with kind permission of Mr. Robert M.
