| Notes | ASN - O-444571 28 February 1944 - Assigned to the 38th Fighter Squadron 13 April 1944 - Bailed out over the English Channel (Bradwell Bay) and suffered broken arm and injuries to both his thighs. Rescued by Air Sea Rescue, Unit No. 27 after it had responded to an emergency call from a ditching 390th BG B-17 and came across Lt. Hawes by pure chance. 12 May 1944 - Relieved from assigned and transferred to Detachment of Patients, 48th General Hospital Passed away in 1991. |
