| Notes | 27 June 1944 - 2/Lt. Carmel lost an engine on take-off,
resulting in a crash. He was mortally injured and died on the 28th
June. He was acting as the squadron spare aircraft and had filled in for Lt. Clifford Gould, as Hellcat Blue 2, who aborted for turbo-supercharger trouble. Lt.
