| Memories | 'He was assigned to my flight from November
1944 to March 1945. One fine wingman.' (Frank
Birtciel) 'He was flying my wing on November 16, 44 and the squadron had to land at Manston due to weather. We touched down and I kept an eye on him on my right wing. He had locked brakes and gradually nosed up and up until the prop hit and he skidded to a stop standing on the nose and main gear. No injuries.' (Frank Birtciel) |
