I. I was Swindle Blue four, led by Lt. Leve. we
went down to bounce an e/a attacking a box of B17's at 18,000 ft. The e/a
broke off the attack on the bombers and turned into our attack. We turned
about half an orbit firing deflection the e/a half-rolled and dived, heading
south and taking cover in low cloud. we broke off the attack at 14,000 ft.
and rejoined the squadron.
