I. ACCOUNT OF COMBAT (In narrative form, stressing ours and enemy's tactics.)
We were flying toward R/V at 31,000 ft. flying straight and
level. E/A attack came from above and ahead when about twenty (20) 109's
met us head on. I sighted on the 109 directly ahead of me and opened fire,
holding until he broke away violently. Scattered hits on the wings were
observed before break away.
